JN Chartered Accountants is a successful audit firm who provides a wide range of services to various clients. We have been in existence since 1953 and continue to expand. We currently have a job opportunity for a permanent full-time Bookkeeper.

Duties of the Bookkeeper will include:

  • Administrative duties;
  • Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.;
  • Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews;
  • Invoicing and debtors collection;
  • IRP5 calculations, reconciliations and submissions;
  • Liason with clients;
  • Maintenance of SARS accounts;
  • Pastel Accounting support;
  • PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions;
  • Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT and Import and Export licenses;
  • Tax clearance applications;
  • UIF registration and administration;
  • VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions;
  • WCA registrations, submission of returns and arranging letters of good standing.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans;
  • Hard working and motivated;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Preferably residing in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Willingness to work longer hours as required from time to time;
  • Working knowledge and experience with Pastel, Pastel Payroll, SARS E-filing and SARS Easyfile.

The following will be to your advantage:

  • BComm (Financial accounting) or similar qualification.
